MIDDLEBURY, CT -- Starion Energy, Inc. employees collected over $2,500 in toys, enough gifts to fill an entire pickup truck... Xbox One, video games, gift cards, cars, trucks, dolls, Lego sets, Play-Doh, sports equipment, educational games, puzzles, board games, infant toys and much more were all included. Founded in 2009, Starion Energy is a competitive supplier of electricity and gas, providing homes and businesses in deregulated energy areas with unique and eco-friendly energy plans that fit customers individualized needs. Starion provides effective gas and electricity options for residents in Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
This is the sixth consecutive year that Starion Energy, Inc. has donated to a local or national charity. "The company response to this year's toy drive was incredible and one of our most successful toy drives yet; our employees are always willing to support great local and national charities," said Customer Support Representative Elisa Santiago. She also shared that, "the owners and employees of the company enjoy giving back and helping the community especially around the holidays."
This year's toy drive again benefited pediatric oncology patients at Smilow Children's Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut. "We really wanted to help provide pediatric patients with comfort, enjoyment, and support while they are receiving inpatient and outpatient care. These toys are not just for the holidays but are also given to patients throughout the year to help comfort and support these children during their recovery process," added Lisa Schmidt, Office Manager at Starion Energy.
The annual holiday toy collection drive is just one of many ways the company tries to be involved in its local community, state, and national charities. The company recently completed a Thanksgiving Food Drive where they donated over 1,100 pounds of food to the Middlebury, Connecticut Community Food Bank. Some of their past charity affiliations include Toys For Tots, Soldiers' Angels, and Connecticut Sports Foundation.
